In its legendary Big Pilot’s collection, IWC introduced a more approachable-sized model series called IWC Big Pilot’s Watch 43.
At the digital Watches & Wonders event, the Swiss manufacturer focused on introducing innovations to the popular Big Pilot’s collection, which goes back to the “B-Uhr” aviation watch produced by the replica IWC in the 1940s and based on a large pocket watch movement.

In 2002, the IWC introduced an automatic machine to its pilot watch, creating a new-age “B-Uhr” watch model with a size of 46.2 millimeters. This revamped watch collection was henceforth known as the “Big Pilot’s Watch” and its three-pointer model stabilized at 46 millimeters in size.
The new and smaller Big Pilot’s Watch 43 is the answer to the need of the market. According to the IWC, many consumers interested in Big Pilot’s models were reluctant to make a purchase decision when the rather massive size of 46 millimeters led to the design of the smaller model.
Big Pilot’s Watch 43 has maintained the proportions and look of its “big brother” successfully. The clear dial features two different color options (black and blue) and, in addition to large indexes and indicators, reflective sapphire crystal on both sides for easy readability. The fake watches also withstands rapid fluctuations in air pressure.
The watch is powered by IWC’s manufacture machine 82100, which provides 60 hours of operation. The beautifully finished machinery can be admired through the sapphire crystal. The screw-locking pull knob on the watch is large, so you get a good grip on it. The watch is also promised a water resistance of one hundred meters. The novelty has a quick-release mechanism for the wristband, so the wristband can be changed without tools.
The recommended price for the IWC Big Pilot’s Watch 43 is € 9,150 for a leather bracelet and € 10,200 for a steel bracelet. Deliveries will start in May and in Finland IWC watches are sold by Lindroos.
